Many of the best places are found away from the tourist heavy spots like the strip and downtown. One such spot can be found in the South West side of town. Dirt Dog is a Los Angeles favorite and they are proud to call themselves a product of street food gourmet.
All the Hot Dogs are 100% real beef and wrapped in bacon. The choices are complex and range from The House Dog which consists of the usual Bacon, Thousand Island Dressing, Green Chile spread and mustard and mayo on top. On the other spectrum you have The Brown Dog with Terryaki Sauce, Sesame Sweet Aioli.
The treats don’t stop with the Hot Dogs. Special tasty sides such as a Mexican style street food favorite known as “Elote“. It’s a Corn on the Cob with Mexican Crema, Cotija Cheese & Chili Powder with Bacon bits and Cilantro to top it off. Garlic Fries, DirtyChips (home made potato chips) and the Expected Chili Cheese Fries and not so expected Guacamole Fries.

Desert is far from an after thought for this place with the Horchata Ice Cream being one of the favorites of my meal. Topped with a super fresh and tasty Churro, it is definitely a must try. Deep fried Oreos and Twinkies are also on the menu for the non dieting clients.
For those living in Las Vegas, or those visiting who want to try some tasty and unique foods, I highly recommend the short drive away from the tourist spots to enjoy Dirt Dogs twist on street food and see what made them a well known name in the L.A.area.
Enjoy friends.
