For those of you that follow me on Instagram, you know that the hubby and I recently spent a couple of nights at one of the best hotels in downtown Las Vegas, Downtown Grand.
Going on vacation in 2020 with the current pandemic situation is far from normal, and many people are choosing to simply stay at home. In our case, we chose to do a local staycation rather than take a trip out of town. Las Vegas remains one of the world’s top destinations for fun and relaxation, and we were determined to have both.
The Grand has taken every measure to make sure that both guests and staff are as safe as possible in these tough times. Temperature checks upon entry, all staff and guests are required to wear masks while on the property (the only exceptions are while eating, in the pool, or of course in your room). Sanitation stations are prevalent all over the property allowing staff and guests to use sanitizer as needed. Staff is diligent at wiping surfaces, chairs, tables, and machines as often as possible. Outside of a sterile bubble or hazmat suit, nothing is perfect, but for those who wish to have that balance of safety and enjoyment, Las Vegas and the Grand is doing all they can to assure the best possible safe environment.
The Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino is the jewel of the famous downtown Las Vegas area.
As one of the most modern properties in the downtown area, combined with the perfect location (just steps from the world-famous Fremont Street Experience), they are a top choice for anyone looking for a more traditional Vegas experience.
Our deluxe modern room was clean and well-appointed. A comfortable king-size bed, with soft and fresh linens and quality pillows. A 40 inch HD TV, in-room refrigerator, comfortable sized shower and a view of the beautiful downtown area and the western mountain range of the Las Vegas valley.
The casino is not huge, but has all the games you can ask for. Traditional table games such as craps, blackjack, roulette & poker variations are plenty. The machines are all modern, with all of the favorites found throughout the city. Should you want to stay on property for your stay, you will not be bored with your options.
For your dining options, the property has Freedom Beat which provides you food and music to enjoy. Because of the current health limitations, I recommend you confirm with the property about seating availability. Also on site is a casino bar called Furnace where you can drink and delight in the festive atmosphere. Art Bar is another on-site option where you can get your fill of coffee selections while enjoying featured works by local artists.
Just across the street, you will find the popular Pizza Rock. By the slice or pie, you will love their tasty pizza.
Our 1st evening was highlighted with a visit to Triple George Grill. Please check out my Instagram post/review and pics about our experience there. If you want a wonderful fine dining meal at a quality place with exceptional food and service, @triplegeorgelv is your destination.
So, you are in Vegas, during summer? Nothing is better in the middle of a hot summer than a day by a cool pool being pampered and just chilling.
